Mrs. Ellen Electa Vanier Grow, 71, who has been ill for the past year, died at her home at 307 Main Street Monday morning at 11 o'clock.

Mrs. Grow was born November 26, 1862 in Raymondville, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Basil Vanier. She moved with her parents to Canton when young, later to Brasher and grew to womanhood in that town. Fifty years ago last May 22 she married John Z. Grow and they lived in Hogansburg until 30 years ago when they moved to this village. They built the house on Elm Street ow occupied by B.J. Cummings when they first moved to Massena, later moving to 307 Main Street. Mr. Grow died in 1929.

Mrs. Grow was a member of Sacred Heart Church, also the LCBA and a promoter of the League of the Sacred Heart. She attended the services of Sacred Heart church regularly as long as her health permitted.

Surviving are two sons, Herbert of Binghamton, and Leonard, at home; three daughters, Mrs. D.H. Lizette and Mrs. J.M. Reynolds, of Massena, and Mrs. Louis Kendall of Saranac Lake; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. William Croke, of Holyoke, MA and Mrs. Catherine Myers of Tupper Lake.
