Wilda W. Carlton , 85, of 302 N. Knox St. died at 3:37 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 1994, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

She was born May 6, 1908, in Warren County to Ira and Nellie Bly Richardson Vance.

Surviving are two sons, Skip of rural Brimfield and Wilbur of Winnemucca, Nev.; one daughter, Alice Forrest of Yates City; two sisters, Wilmadean Fleet of Novato, Calif., and Wanda Richardson of Rifle, Colo.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. One son, Gary Ralph Carlton , one brother and one granddaughter preceded her in death.

She attended Western Illinois University. She was a teacher for 33 years, working in Glasford; at Norris School for nine years; and then at Banner and McCall schools for 23 years.

She was a member of Farmington Baptist Church, Illinois Retired Teacher's Association, Canton Women's Club and Fulton County Organ Club.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Anderson Funeral Home in Farmington. The Rev. William J. Mansfield will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Norris Cemetery in Norris.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
