BROWN
Opal Fern Brown, daughter of Charles and Edna Clark VanWinkle, was born January 19, 1905, in Lucas County, Iowa, and passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, April 13, 1973 at the age of 68 years, two months and five days. She was a lifelong resident of Lucas County.
She was united in marriage to Earl Brown on September 23, 1922, and to this union four children were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant daughter.
Those surviving include her husband, Earl, of Chariton; one daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Edna) Morrison; two sons, Earl Jr. and Donald, all of Chariton; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Everett VanWinkle of South Bend, Ind. and Clyde VanWinkle of Elkhart, Ind.; three sisters, Mrs. Esther Olstrom and Berniece Vanette, of Goshen, Ind., and Greta Bunn of Elkhart, Ind.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Merriell D. Summerbell, D.D., at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 15, 1973, at the Fielding Funeral Home. Interment was in the Chariton Cemetery.
