Crossville Chronicle January 2, 1936
Mrs Bryant, mother of Casto Bryant, of No 11 Sawmill Road, died on the 22nd of December after a short illness. The deceased was shipped to Eastland (White county) for burial there.
Mrs Bryant was a member of the Women's Club and active in the group work. Her rugs were some of the loveliest made in the Homesteads and her quilting was also beautifully done.
Mrs Bryant had a number of friends at the Homesteads and the younger women in the group affectionately called her "Grandma" Bryant, although she was not an old woman.
Mrs Bryant will long be remembered by her friends for her cheerful manner and friendly spirit of neighborliness.
