MRS. PETER CASWELL
Deckerville -- Funeral services were held Monday in the Baptist church for Mrs. Jane Caswell, 88, who died Saturday after a long illness. Rev. William H. Schobert, pastor officiated.
Burial was in Downing cemetery.
Mrs. Caswell was born November 22, 1857, in East Niagara, Ont. When she was 10 years old, she came to Michigan with her parents and settled in Marion township. She was married to Peter Caswell September 3, 1877, in Deckerville. After their marriage they settled on a farm in Marion Township.
Her husband died in February, 1941. Three sons also preceded her in death. She was a member of the Baptist church 68 years and until her health failed her she was active in church affairs.
She is survived by four sons, Joseph Caswell, Vancouver, B.C.; Gordon and Elmer Caswell of Deckerville and Roy Caswell, Port Huron; two brothers, William and Alexander Van Sickle, both of Deckerville; a sister, Mrs. Fred Badgerow, Hillman, Michigan, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral service were held Monday from the local Baptist church with Rev. William Schobert, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Downing cemetery.
