Louise A. (Stanton) VanOrden, 74, formerly of Mansfield, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2001, at Broad Acres Nursing Home, Wellsboro.
Born Oct. 3, 1926, in Honesdale, she was the daughter of Edward and Beatrice (Craven) Stanton.
She was a member of the Mansfield First United Methodist Church.
She was the widow of the late Wesley VanOrden who died
in 1972.
She was employed by the Merganthaler Company in Wellsboro.
Preceding her in death were her brothers, Thomas, Wilson, Walter and Gerald Stanton; and sisters, Eleanor Schuman and Esther Johnson.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Terrence and Lynn VanOrden of Mansfield and William and Carol VanOrden of Bellefonte; grandchildren, Travis, Courtney, Patric Ryan, Wesley Ronald and William VanOrden Jr.; four sisters, Ada Levanowitz of Carbondale, Dorothy Henderson of Honesdale, Hilda Lee of Hop Bottom and Hazel Williams of Honesdale; sister-in-law, Vivian Kooch of Honesdale.
Calling hours were held Thursday, Feb. 15, at the Scureman Funeral Home, Mansfield. Funeral services were held there Friday, Feb. 16, with the Rev. Joyce Treas officiating. Burial was made at Oakwood Cemetery, Mansfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Mansfield First United Methodist Church, 67 East Wellsboro St., Mansfield, Pa. 16933; or to Broad Acres Nursing Home, RR 3, Box 249, Wellsboro, Pa. 16901.
