Mrs. G.J. (Kathy) Blankenship, 51, of Richland, died suddenly at her home Thursday morning, February 16, of an apparent heart attack.

Services were held Friday, February 17, at 2 p.m. at Baldwin Funeral Home Chapel in Pearl with the Rev. Doyle Hughes officiating. Burial was in Floral Hills Memory Gardens.

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Devlin Shearer of Brandon and Capt. David Johnson of Monterey Bay, Calif.; two daughters, Mrs. Diane Burt of Pearl and Miss Denise Shearer of Richland; a sister, Mrs. O.M. Griffing of Pearl; three brothers, James Vandevender of Pearl, M.L. Vandevender of Jackson and Odell Vandevender of Louisville, Ky.; and five grandchildren.

Mrs. Blankenship was a native of Kemper County and had lived in Richland since 1945. She was a member of the Richland Baptist Church.

Pallbearers were Red Ethridge, Ted Alexander, Artis Williams, Floyd Casper, Lamar Griffin and Lamar Brown.
