There's an interesting story about Olive that has been told to us through the generations. What exactly happened and much of the story has been lost.

When Olive was a little girl she was very ill and her family thought she had died, they prepared to bury her but her Eldest sister Sarah Jane kept telling everyone that she was not dead, and she refused to let them bury Olive, it was one or two days later that Olive woke up. Sarah Jane must have been very convincing and truly believed she was not dead.

Grandmother Burget passed away last Thursday, at her home here in Altoona, after an illness of several weeks. She was one of the pioneers of this section having lived near Mitchellville and later coming to Altoona where she has lived for over a half century. She was the mother of James E., Ray H., Lewis and Clarence:also Mrs. Ed Hodgeson of DesMoines and Russell of Kansas City.

Mrs. Olive Juliett Burget was born to Mr. and Mrs. Van Winkle in Pennsylvania April 19, 1861, and passed away at her home in Altoona on October 22, 1942 at the age of 81 years, 6 months and 2 days. She moved with her parents from Pennsylvania to Mineral, Ill., when she was three years old and remained there until she was fourteen year of age. From Mineral, Ill, she moved to Taylor County, Iowa, and has been a resident of Iowa since. In December 25, 1877, she was married to George Burget, who passed away in 1935. To this union were born the five sons and one daughter, who with fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, and one sister, survive.

She became a member of the Methodist church at the age of 14 and later transferred her membership to the Christian church at Mitchellville. She has been a member of the Christian church of Altoona for approximately 52 years.

Funeral services were held in the Altoona Church of Christ Saturday afternoon, October 24, Rev. Chas. C. Miller officiating. Interment was in the Altoona cemetery.
