Rebecca Marie (Paz) Van Sickle Our beloved mother was born July 6, 1936 and passed away June 16, 2009. Her children are Monique Van Sickle and Rene Van Sickle. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Petra and Manuel G. Paz; sister, Naomi Martinez; and nephew, Victor Martinez. Rebecca is survived by her sisters, Lydia Duarte and Alicia Leyva; stepmother, Hilda and her son, Guillermo; half sister, Laura and half brother, Eddie. She graduated Pima Community College, May 1980 with a degree of Associate of Science. She spent her devoted nursing career at St. Mary's Hospital in the Medical Intensive Care Unit. After retiring she became very involved in several Red Hat Society groups and joined Silver Sneakers. In addition to her great love for her children, family and friends, she was an avid reader and world traveler. Becky touched many lives with her generous and spirited heart. She will be greatly missed. Rosary will be held Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. followed by Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine Cathedral.
