20 Jul 2006: Elvira (Smith) Van Orman, 86, passed into the Lord's care Wednesday, July 19, 2006 at Osteopathic Hospital. She was born June 15, 1920 in Camden, NJ, daughter of the late Charles (Zemaitis) and Anna (Zirs) Smith. A graduate of Juniata College, she had a lifelong interest in music which she pursued until recently as a pianist for her church, Trinity Evangelical Free Church, Dauphin, where she was a charter member. Surviving are her beloved husband of 63 years, Ellis Van Orman; sons Paul (and his wife, Joan) Van Orman of Mechanicsburg, and Philip (and his wife, Margaret) Van Orman of Stroudsburg; daughter Esther Holz of Houston, TX; and grandchildren Denise Tschudy, David Holz, Dustin Miller, Charles Lanasa and Philip Van Orman, Jr. Funeral Saturday, July 22, in her church, Dauphin, Rev. Thomas L. Smith, her pastor, officiating. Burial in Shoop's Cemetery. [Harrisburg Patriot-News]
