Times-Picayune, The (New Orleans, LA) - Tuesday, September 1, 2009

M. Dreux Van Horn II passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2009. Age 80. Beloved son of the late Marian Dreux Van Horn and Lucille Irene Kinney. Survived by many, many beloved friends. He served his country in the U.S. Army in Korea for 3 years. He earned his Bachelors and Law degrees from Tulane University and his Master's in Education from the University of Southern Mississippi. He taught at Pass Christian High School for 9 years until hurricane Camille and St. Martin's Episcopal High School for 11 years. He was a member of St. Martin's Episcopal Church, the Round Table Club, the New Orleans Museum of Art and Uptown Shepherd Center. He was an active volunteer for over 30 years at the New Orleans Museum of Art and was the recipient of the Volunteer of the Year Award in 1985.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at LAKE LAWN METAIRIE FUNERAL HOME, 5100 Pontchatrain Blvd., New Orleans, (in Metairie Cemetery). Interment will follow in Metairie Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the New Orleans Museum of Art, P.O. Box 19123, New Orleans, LA 70179.
