She was born May 28, 1917 in Elgin, the daughter of S.R. and Daisey Van Horn.
She had been a resident of Elgin for many years, moving to Orlando in 1995. She and her husband operated Hartman Fair Concession Services for many years before retiring. She was a member of the Highland Ave. Church of the Brethren and was active with the Kane County Homemakers Extension.
Survivors include her husband, Arnold; two daughters, Ruth (Don) Carpenter of Apoka, Fla. and Mary (David) Garrett of Orlando, Fla.; three sons, Peter (Sunny) Hartman of San Juan, Capistrano, Paul Hartman of Apoka, Fla. and John(Roberta) Hartman of Elgin; 14 grandchildren; and 14 great- grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters; and two brothers.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Friday in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin, the Rev. Don Shank officiating. Private burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Friends may call on Friday from 12 noon until the time of services in the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Highland Ave. Church of the Brethren.
