Angelina, a lifelong resident of Espaņola, passed away in the Espaņola Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was survived by her husband Rudolfo; a daughter Elena Valdez Matthews of Las Cruces; a son Carlos of Espaņola; two sisters Bertha Martinez of Fairview and Flora Russell of Denver, Colorado; four brothers Dr. John "Lupe" Rodriguez of LExington, Kentucky; Manuel J. Rodriguez of Santa Fe; Father John C. "Candido" Rodriguez of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish in Santa Fe; and Dr. Gerald P Rodriguez of Santa Fe; a granddaughter Monica Matthews; and a number of other relatives.
Angelina was a 1949 graduate of New Mexico State University in Las Cruces. She taught home economics and science in the Espaņola School system until her retirement in Sep 1988. She was an active member of Holy Cross Church, the Espaņola Hospital Auxiliary, and a volunteer for Cancer Outreach.
Funeral services were held 2 Nov 1989 in Holy Cross Church in Santa Cruz. Burial followed in the Holy Cross Cemetery.
The family requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Cancer Research Institute at the university of New Mexico.
