BRUNO VETTING

Bruno Vetting, 90, of 8433 Middle Road, Manitowoc, died Tuesday, July 3, at North Ridge Care Center.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church. The Rev. Larry Ellenberger will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. Military graveside services will be accorded by American Legion Drews Bleser Post Number 88.
Mr. Vetting was born October 27, 1893, in the township of Newton, Manitowoc County, son of the late William and Ida Bremer Vetting. Mr. Vetting grew up and was educated in local schools there. He served in the United States Army during World War II, serving overseas. Mr. Vetting was a dairy farmer all his life, retiring in 1954. He also operated a Custom Thrashing Machine for 27 years. He married the former Elfrida Fischer on October 14, 1925, at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, Newtonburg. Mr. Vetting was a charter member of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church and American Legion Drews Bleser Number 88.
Survivors include his wife, Elfrida; three sons and daughters-in-law; Robert and Bernice Vetting of rural Manitowoc, Kenneth and Dorothy Vetting of California and Gordon and Karen Vetting of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jeanette and Edward Lang of rural Manitowoc and Charlotte Carmichael of Indiana; five brothers, George Vetting of Manitowoc, Hugo Vetting of rural Manitowoc, Reiny Vetting of Manitowoc, Harold Vetting of Manitowoc and Victor Vetting of Florida; a sister, Esther Herwig of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; a brother-in-law, Herbert Hoefner of Manitowoc; 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
Friends may call at the church after 9 a.m. until the hour of services on Friday. There will no (sic) Thursday evening visitation at Urbanek and Schlei Pfeffer and Reinbold Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church.
