Funeral services for Pfc. William Vetter, 18, son of Mrs. Edward
Valible of route 5, Manitowoc, who was killed in the blast of a
B-29 bomber at a California airbase August 5, will be held at
2 p.m. Wednesday at the Urbanek and Schlei funeral home. There
will be military rites at the grave in Evergreen cemetery by the
American Legion.
Private Vetter was a member of the base fire department who
responded to the call after the bomber crashed and burned and
was fatally injured by exploding bombs carried by the B-29.
The casket will arrive from the west coast this evening. Friends
may call at the funeral home after Tuesday noon.
