WALTER H. VETTER

Walter Herman Vetter, 71, of 718 S. 27th St., Manitowoc, died Sunday
at Memorial Hospital, following a short illness.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bethany Lutheran Church,
Manitowoc, the Rev. Armin Roekle officiating. Burial will be in
Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Vetter was born Nov. 20, 1891, at Kaukauna, son of the late August
and Louisa Lutzke Vetter. Dec. 12, 1915, he married Pearl Peterson at
Gjerpen and the couple resided at Valders until 1925, coming to
Manitowoc where Mr. Vetter was employed at Burger Boat Co. Inc., for
31 years, retiring in February, 1958.
He was a member of Carpenters Local No. 849 at Manitowoc.
Survivors include four sons, Ervin of Rt. 4, Manitowoc, and Elton,
Milton and Eugene of Manitowoc; four daughters, Mrs. Clarence Waack
of Rt. 1, Manitowoc, Mrs. Orland Hall and Mrs. Larry Wojta of Rt. 4,
Manitowoc and Mrs. Ralph Trefz of Manitowoc; a brother, John of Newton;
two sisters, Mrs. Lillian Free of Francis Creek and Mrs. Oscar
Tomaschefsky of Rt. 1, Maribel; 20 grandchildren and six great grand-
children. His wife preceded him in death in 1948. He also was preceded
in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Tuesday at Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home,
Manitowoc, until 10:30 a.m. Wednesday when the casket will be moved to
the church where the body will lie in state until the hour of service.
