Ervin W. Vetter, age 88, a resident of River's Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc, died Monday morning, Sept. 6, 2004, at River's Bend. He was born April 2, 1916, in Valders, son of the late Walter and Pearl Peterson Vetter. On March 26, 1938, he married the former Violet Wicihouski in Manitowoc. She preceded him in death Dec. 13, 1993. Ervin was employed as a molder at Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry for 15 years. He then worked as a machinist at Burger Boat for 32 years, retiring in 1980. He was a 50-year member of the Carpenters & Molders Union. Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law: Fred Vetter, Whitelaw; Steven and Joyce Vetter, Newton; Tim and Christine Vetter, Manitowoc; Mark Vetter, Wyoming; five daughters and sons-in-law: Nancy and Doug Voelker, Manitowoc; Patricia Vetter, Mississippi; Kay and Jerry Shimek, Manitowoc; Jodi and Michael Pokorski, Mishicot; Susan Vetter, Manitowoc; 35 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and one sister and two brothers-in-law: Betty and Ralph Trefz and Orland Hall. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by three brothers: Elton, Eugene and Milton Vetter; three sisters: Delores Wojta, Lucille Hall and Hazel Waack; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004, at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Deacon Robert Drobka with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc. The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, from 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004 until the time of service at 11:30 a.m.
