Celia T. (Ceil) Vetter, age 99, a resident of River's Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc, died Tuesday afternoon, December 9, 2014 at River's Bend.
She was born on September 23, 1915 in the town of Kossuth, Manitowoc County, daughter of the late John and Emma (Frelich) Skarvan. Celia grew up and was educated in the town of Kossuth. On June 7, 1939 she married Wilbert W. Vetter at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on July 12, 1980. Celia enjoyed playing cards, bingo and her occasional trips to the casino. She was a member and volunteer of the Manitowoc Senior Center and a former member of the St. Paul Parish Women.
Survivors include a very special friend: Mary Wellner, Manitowoc; and a special niece: Gwynn Vetter, Green Bay. Also surviving are other nieces and nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by four brothers: Victor, Thomas, Leonard & Frank and a sister: Viola Ledvina.
Private family funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 13, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall - 1114 South 21st Street, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Richard Klingeisen with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
