Rozella Ussery Cheek 10/19/1929 - 03/16/2015 Rozella Cheek (Rosie) passed away on 03/16/15 in Visalia, California at age 85. Rozella Cheek was born in Gatesville, Texas on 10/19/1929 to Arthur Oliver Ussery and Melba Florence Robertson. She graduated from Orosi High School in 1948. She attended COS and earned her AA degree. She married John Edward Cheek on 08/02/1947 in Orosi, California. They were married for 64 years until his passing in 2011. She retired from the Tulare County Sheriff's Department in 1979 as a juvenile detective. She also worked for Tulare County Welfare and Sprague Electric. She enjoyed bowling, reading, going to the casino and keeping her home spotless. John and Rozella spent their retirement years working on their rentals and delivering buses all over the United States. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Cheek, her parents Arthur and Melba Ussery, her in-laws Robert and Daisy Cheek. Also her brother Clayton Ussery. Brother in-laws, Billy Jo Cheek, Richard Patrick Cheek, nieces Linda Cheek and Phyllis Reagan, and nephew Bobby Cheek. She is survived by her brother Dean Ussery, daughter Cheryl Cheek and son Johnny Cheek. Nieces Teresa Suderman, Cindy Robertson, Sheila Soy, and Sandy Martin. Granddaughters Lisa Marie Cheek and Mistee Gayle Cheek. Great grandchildren Bailey Scott Collier, Kiki Marie Rogers and Kayla Rose Valencia. A special thanks to Kaweah Home Care and TLC Assisted Living for their care during the last few months. A funeral service will be held at 10 AM on March 23, 2015 at Salser and Dillard Funeral Chapel.
