Adonio Urioste, age 85, a lifetime resident of Las Vegas, N.M. passed away Wednesday, Nov.19, 2008, at his home.
He was born Sept. 2, 1923, in Aguilar, N.M. to the late Visitación Urioste and Julianita Gomez-Urioste and was united in marriage to Flora Alarcon.
He retired from the New Mexico State Hospital where he was employed for 21 years as Custodian. He enjoyed ranching and caring for his animals.
A lifetime Catholic, he was a member of the Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, N.M.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Flora Urioste; Grandson: Leroy "Squicke" Urioste; brother: Eloy Urioste; sisters: Juanita Baca and Fidelia Urioste.
He is survived by his sons: Leroy Urioste and wife Kathy and Vincent Urioste (Cindy) all of Las Vegas, N.M.; daughters: Lorraine Archibeque (Marvin) of Las Vegas, N.M., Lucille Urioste (Lorenzo) of Albuquerque, Louella Urioste (Casey) and Teresa Yardman and husband Chris all of Las Vegas, N.M.; special granddaughter whom he raised: Lori Urioste; grandchildren: Lynette, Leticia, Brian, Angela, and Crystal; eight great-grandchildren; mother-in-law: Sinforosa Solano of Avondale, Colo.; brothers: Fulgencio Urioste, Ramon Urioste and Ruben Urioste and wife Flora all of Las Vegas, N.M.; sisters: Isabel Ortiz of Las Vegas, N.M., Sarita Smith of Albuquerque, and Magdalena Chavez and husband Lupe of Los Lunas, N.M.; special friend: Tommy Garcia of Albuquerque; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Rosary devotional services will be conducted this evening at 7 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Las Vegas, N.M. Funeral services will be conducted Friday morning at 9 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church with Father C. John Brasher as celebrant. Interment will follow at the Los Montoyas Cemetery with the following serving as casket bearers: Chris Yardman, Casey Ortega, Rudy Urioste, Gilbert Smith, Bobby Smith, and Eugenio Urioste.
