Blanche Rebecca (Upshaw) Coke, 86, of El Dorado, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at the John R. Williamson Hospice House in El Dorado.
Blanche was born on July 10, 1927, in Spearsville, La., to the late Aubrey Dudley Upshaw and Lucille (Senn) Upshaw. Blanche was a longtime member of East Main Baptist Church and a member of the Order of Eastern Star, El Dorado Chapter. Blanche was truly a family woman and loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren. She also represented five living generations of family on both daughters' sides of the family.
Blanche was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Arzo Coke; special friend, Otha Grice; one sister, Katherine Bates; and one brother, Ralph Upshaw.
Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, LaWanna Welsh and her husband Kenny of Branson, Mo., and Brenda J. Miller and her husband Dave of El Dorado; seven grandchildren, Brandon Key of El Dorado, John Welsh of Sparta, Mo., Tammy Burke and her husband Rob, April Maria and her husband Hector, all of Ridgedale, Mo., Daniel Welsh and his wife Sally of Carrlane, Mo., Jennifer Flournoy of Little Rock and Cliff Howard and wife Leann of El Dorado; grandson-in-law, Korey Flournoy; 16 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Sue Hudson of Royal.
Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 12, with a memorial service following at 3 p.m. at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel. Her son-in-law, Kenny Welsh, will officiate the service.
