BERGER Martha Louise (Upshaw) Berger, passed away unexpectedly and peacefully on Saturday, January 28, 2006 at her residence. Martha, affectionately known as "Didda," was born on February 12, 1934, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Millard Upshaw, Sr. and Fannie Mae Richardson Upshaw. In addition to her parents she is predeceased by her sister Millicent Upshaw-Hogan. Martha graduated from East High School and retired from DCSC. She was a faithful and devoted member of Higher Ground Always Abounding Assemblies, Inc. Church. She is survived by her loving husband, Billy Berger, Sr.; children, Darlene Griffin, Leilani Kua (James), and Billy, Jr.; grandchildren, Tinika (Antonio) Reed, Larry Griffin, Sr., Alvin, Jr., Aleka, and Jessica Brown, Billy D. Jones; Robert Morris; and Sheree Berger; great-grandchildren, Rekieia, Anthony, and Antonia, Larry, Jr. and Janzane, Alnesha, and Leaisha; sisters, Jeanette, Betty, Carolyn, Linda, and Robin Upshaw, Margie Malone and Bonnie Smith; brothers, Millard, Jr. and Vincent (Lonetta) Upshaw; sister-in-law, Sylvia (Frankie) Moore of Norfolk, WV; best friends, Brenda Snider, Earl and Yvonne Caliver, and Al Rawls; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. We are so thankful for the precious time God granted us with her.
