Notes from one who removed the bodies to the National Cemetery:
Originally buried on ground now use for Marietta and Atlanta National Cemetery about two hundred and fifty yards from the residence of Mr H G Cole, in the city of Marietta, Ga. These graves were in three tiers lying north and south. The numbering commenced at the north end of the west tier and runs to south. The second tier next east is numbered from the south to the north and the third from the north to the south as the first.

Death dates in this group of 57 graves range from July to September, 1864. The starting number of each of the three rows is not noted on the document. These 57 burials appear to be men of the 16th Army Corps (Dodge) 2nd Div (Sweeny).
