BRENDA JEANETTE UNDERWOOD (KEENE) (FMHS 1949) 2002-03-30
Brenda J. Keene, 70, of Fort Myers, died March 27, 2002. She was born
in Fort Myers a daughter of the late Owen R. and Katherine
(McLaughlin) Underwood (FMHS 1929). She was a granddaughter of the
owners and operators of McLaughlin Dairy. Brenda graduated from Ft.
Myers High School in 1949. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of
the American Legion, V.F.W. of Ft. Myers and she was also a member of
the Submarine Veteran's Wives Association.
Mrs. Keene is survived by her husband of 53 years Archie, her sons and
daughters-in-law Gary (FMHS 1969) and Linda Keene of Fort Myers, James
(FMHS 1970) and Sharalyn Keene of West Gardiner, ME, her sister Martha
Klein (FMHS 1950) of Fort Myers, her brother and sister-in-law David
and Penny Underwood of England, seven grandchildren, two great-
grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, cousins and friends who will
miss and love her always. She was predeceased by her brother Gene
Underwood.
A funeral service will be conducted in the Fort Myers Memorial Gardens
Funeral Home, A Dignity provider, on Monday, April 1, at 11:00 a.m.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 -11:00 a.m.
Interment will be in Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
