Mr. Dennis Underwood, Jr. was born on August 13, 1944. He was the last of four children born to the late Mr. Dennis and Mrs. Tebathel Underwood.
He confessed Christ at an early age and was a member of the former Thirty-Second Street Baptist Church family.
He attended Davis Elementary School and Hayes High School.
He was the baby of the family to both his parents and his siblings.
He was a devoted father to his sons.
He worked as a truck driver for 26 years for Consolidated Freight Ways from which he retired several years ago.
He was a fun loving man known by his loud laughter and joking conversation.
He departed this life on May 11, 2010.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother and his only sister, Jocile Minnifield.
He leaves to mourn his passing and cherish his memories:three sons, Dennis Earl Mason (Angela Daniels), Kelvin Dewayne Mason and Derrick Deon Mason (Sherita Russell); four grandchildren; two brothers, McDaniel Underwood (Allie Mae)and Floyd Underwood; one uncle, Macon Underwood of Cliffwood, New Jersey; two aunts, Earvalene Wilson Parker and Alberta Hurt of Birmingham, Alabama; his special friend, Carolyn Jackson; four nieces, three nephews, a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will truly be missed by all.
