OGDEN--Ida Underwood Stoker, 65, died Monday, January 11, 1999 at Ogden Regional Medical Center. She was born July 5, 1933 in Salt Lake City, a daughter of Forest Ivan and Nellie Alfreda Stanley Underwood. At the age of 12, she moved to Clearfield. Ida was active in high school and was elected Prom Queen and Rodeo Queen. She graduated from Davis High School in 1951. Ida married Karl Stoker (Nov. 3, 1951) and they were later divorced. She was active in community, church and youth sports programs. She also volunteered at the Golden Hours Senior Citizens Center. Ida was employed at Hill Air Force Base for 32 years. She retired in 1986. She enjoyed classical music and going to the symphony. She was a great lover of Utah Arts, her pets, nature and her home in Ogden Canyon. She loved her family and was devoted to her children. Surviving are her companion, Alta "Lenny" Johnsen, Ogden; two daughters and two sons, Kathy Stoker, West Point; Robin (Chad) Heslop, San Diego, Calif.; Kyle (Julayne) Stoker, Plain City; Patrick Baggs, Ogden; five grandchildren, Shane (Liz) Stoker, Rigby, Idaho; Nathan Stanley Stoker, Plain City; Amelia Ann Heslop, San Diego, Calif.; Nikael Stoker, Plain City; Neriece Stoker, Plain City; and two great-grandchildren, Miranda Stoker and Bailey David Stoker, both of Rigby, Idaho. Ida is also survived by three brothers and two sisters, Paul D. (Sandra) Underwood, West Valley City; David L. Underwood, Willard; Ray S. (Debbie) Underwood, Ogden; Jane Sandberg, North Ogden; Twig (Bill) Francom, Ogden; also many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by one son, David Niels Stoker, her parents, her sister-in-law, Pat Underwood, one brother-in-law, Fred Sandberg, and her faithful dog "Robbie Boy" Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., with Dr. Harold Wheeler officiating. Friends may call at the mortuary on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday 10 to 10:45 a.m. Entombment, Good Shepherd Abbey Mausoleum at Lindquist's Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Utah Aids Foundation or Best Friends Society of Kanab, Utah 84741.
