LEICESTER JUNCTION - Patrick Lee Tyler, age 53, died Nov. 3, 2011, at Helen Porter Health & Rehabilitation Center in Middlebury.

Mr. Tyler was born in Baltimore, MD, on Sept. 8, 1958. He was the son of Joseph and Pearle (Thompson) Tyler. He received his early education at St. Dominic's Catholic School, and was graduated from Northern High School, Class of 1976, both in Baltimore, MD.

Following his education he worked at Caltec Cable Co. for several years. He had worked at Milton L. Lamp & Sons Construction in Baltimore, as well. He moved to Vermont in 1990 and work at Middlebury Construction for several years. He worked as a carpenter at Naylor & Breen in Brandon until illness forced his retirement.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Surviving is his care provider of eight years, Crystal Sears of Leicester Junction; two sons, Joseph Patrick Tyler of Baltimore, MD, and Matthew Charbonneau of Clarendon, VT; two stepsons, Shawn Sears of Springfield, and Jason Dukette and his friend Heather Pollard of Leicester; a special grandson, Ethan Dukette and special granddaughter Kayla Sears and friend Jeff Freegard; great-granddaughter Eliza Freegard; and special friends, Kenneth Dukette and Charlie and Sherry Fay. He was predeceased by his brother Greg Tyler, a stepson Willy Dukette, and stepdaughter Tina "Sissy" Dukette.

The memorial service "In Celebration of His Life" will be held on Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, at 10 a.m., at the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon. The Rev. Richard White, pastor of the Brandon Congregational Church, will officiate. The graveside committal service and burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery in Leicester.

Memorial gifts in lieu of flowers may be made in his memory to: the Brandon Area Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 232, Brandon, VT 05733.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Miller & Ketcham Funeral Home in Brandon.
