Thomas Twining, born at St Faith's, near Norwich, member of the Twining Tea family. Lived and died at Penhryn House, Twickenham. He was a technical writer, publishing 'Science for the People', 1870, 'Technical Training', 1874, and 'Science Made Easy', in 1878, this latter published in five volumes. He operated a private museum and some of his stuff was donated to the Science Museum.
