Birth: 1615
Herefordshire, England
Death: May 16, 1706
Barnstable County
Massachusetts, USA

Isabel was the daughter of William Twining and his first, unknown, wife. She was born in England around 1615. Her mother may have died in England and Isabel came to New England with her father and brother before 1640. She was married June 17, 1641 in Yarmouth, Barnstable, Massachusetts, to Francis Baker. He was born in 1611 in east England and came to New England in the ship "Planter" in 1635. Boston records show that their first son was born in Boston in 1642. Boston records do contain events that occurred some where else nearby, so the marriage may really have been in Yarmouth. They settled in Yarmouth where they had several more children. Her mother was certainly dead by 1652, when her father married Anna Doane in Yarmouth. In 1659 Isabel and Francis were living in the area of Yarmouth that was to become Eastham, on 10 acres, "lying upon Poche", by the land of Isabel's father, William Twining Sr. Those three acres were sold to Wm. Twining Jr. (her brother), and Francis and Isabel returned to Eastham where Francis was engaged as a cooper and blacksmith and also as surveyor of highways. They moved back to Yarmouth, where Francis made his will in 1693 and he died July 23, 1696. Isabel died May 16, 1706 in Yarmouth.
