Theresa "Terry" (Twaddell) Spear
Theresa Twaddell Spear "Terry"

After a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, Theresa has entered into eternal rest at 64.

She was raised by her full-blooded Italian grandparents and attended Catholic schools in Wilmington. Terry enjoyed crafting, needlework (Bob called her "Fingers"), writing, gardening, shopping, Disney, and working. She worked as a New Castle County Crossing Guard for 39 years. She acquired 28 stars for her perfect attendance, hard work, and dedication to her job. Terry loved her kids. She worked while juggling her doctor appointments and her chemotherapy treatments throughout her last school year 2010-11. Terry was a faithful member of Ogletown Baptist Church and she loved praising God and singing "Amazing Grace".

Terry lived passionately, loved unconditionally, and always said, "take time to let others know your love." "Don't procrastinate in showing and doing things with your loved ones."

Terry was a devoted wife, mother, and friend to all. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert W. Spear (Spearman) of 26 years; two precious daughters, Theresa Twaddell and significant other Ronald MacCord, and Marcia Klair and husband Robert, all of New Castle; 2 stepchildren, Jason and Yvonne Spear, of Napa Valley, CA; 5 grandchildren, Matthew Dillon, John Dillon, Jennifer Klair, Jessa and Ashley Spear; 6 step-grandchildren; great-grandchild, Aaliyah; 7 stepgreat-grandchildren; 84 adopted youth group children; and a multitude of children at DNG Youth Camp.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, October 10, in Strano & Feeley Family Funeral Home, 635 Churchmans Road, Newark, DE 19702 from 6-8 pm and again on Tuesday, October 11 from 10-11 am followed by a service in celebration of Terry's life at 11 am. Burial will be in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

The family suggests memorial contributions to Heartland Hospice, 5661 Ochletree Lane, Wilmington, DE 19808 or Ogletown Baptist Church, 316 Red Mill Road, Newark, DE.
