Mary Jane Tutcher, daughter of Thomas Tutcher and Susan Stevens, was born 27 September 1842 in Sidney, Delaware County, New York. In 1848, Mary lived in Greene, New York. In 1858, She resided in Appanoose Township, Kansas. In 1861, Mary lived in Valley Brook Township, Kansas. On 20 July 1861, she married Harry Horr, son of Henry Horr, in Lyndon, Osage County, Kansas. They had six sons, Ernest H., Rodney I., John A., Daniel G., William T. , and Rufus Horr. Henry died 20 April 1880 in Osage County. Mary Tutcher Horr remarried to Sterling Lee Southwood on September 21, 1887 in Franklin County, Kansas. In 1900, Mary Tutcher Southwood resided in Spokane, Washington. At age 70, after suffering from pneumonia, Mary died on 4 January 1913 in Spokane, Spokane County, Washington.
