AUTOPSY DISCLOSES, CLOVIS DEMISE DUE TO NATURAL CAUSE, SAYS CORONER.
Mrs. Tina Appling died suddenly last night as the result of natural causes, Coroner J. Herman Kennedy found today, following receipt of a report from Dr. T. N. Sample, autopsy surgeon. There will be no inquest conducted, Kennedy said.
Sheriff W. F. Jones and District Attorney Glenn M. DeYora, with Kennedy, were called to a ranch near Clovis early this morning, when Mrs. Appling suddenly died, her symptoms displaying an apparent death by poison, according to Dr. M. S. McMurtry of Clovis. The autopsy today, however, dispelled any fear of poison. Mrs. Appling ate dinner in Fresno and then left for her Auberry home. Divorced frpm her husband, Joel, she was with Theodore Root of Auberry. On their way home, they stopped in at the ranch for a visit and ate nothing there although, they stayed for some length of time. Mrs. Appling was taken ill and died half an hour after Dr. McMurtry arrived at the ranch. The surgeon told the officers that Mrs. Appling denied taking any poison.
