Lillian Irene Basso, age 84, of Woodbridge, Va., departed this Earthly life for a new home in Heaven on July 31, 2011.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Tony. Lillian is survived by her children, Michael Basso (Pat), Bob Basso (Lois), Sharon Basso (Jim Dubik), Darlene Shepherd (Wayne) and Rose Lyons (John), all of Virginia and John Basso (Sherry) of North Carolina; sister, Joyce Bruton of Arizona; brother, Claude Turner of Virginia; 16 grandchildren; 27 great- grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Lillian was a longtime member of Marsh Road Baptist Church. Her family roots date back to the 1700's in Prince William County.

There will be a visitation and celebration of Lillian's life from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, 4143 Dale Blvd, Dale City, Va. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 4, 2011 at Marsh Road Baptist Church, 1514 Old Marsh Rd, Woodbridge, VA 22191. The interment will follow at Stafford Memorial Park in Stafford, Va.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Marsh Road Baptist Church, in memory of Lillian I. Basso. Arrangements by Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home of Dale City, Va.
