| Birth: | Jul. 6, 1927 | | Death: | Mar. 18, 2007 |  Nel Edith Marie (Turner) Bosch died on March 18 at her home in Hines after a long bout with emphysema. She was born in The Dalles on July 6, 1927, to Irving Christofer Turner and Verta "Faye" (Tindall) Turner. Bosch grew up in the Mill Creek area of West Wasco County, graduating from The Dalles High School in June 1944. While in school she was active in the Civil Air Patrol. Her training there landed Bosch a job with the National Meteorological Service in Burns. She met Rex D. Bosch in Burns, and the two were married in December 1945. She resided in Harney County ever since. During her life in Burns, Bosch was employed by Marge Kinder at the Pine Room, Hines Lumber Company in the commissary, Bell Telephone Co. and Burns Chamber of Commerce, where she earned "Woman of the Year" honors. She enlisted in the Business and Professional Woman Association, and rose high in the state ranks. Bosch then took a job with the State of Oregon, where she remained until retirement in 1992. Bosch was a talented artist, writer, seamstress, arranger and costume maker. She volunteered during the Harney County Fair, during Elks Club activities, was a Cub Scout den mother, helped with 4-H projects and campaigned for democratic candidates. She was also a life-long member of the Harney County and Wasco County Pioneer Associations. Bosch will be remembered for her hard work, intelligence and keen sense of humor. ...............
