|Death: ||May 31, 1953|
Memories of a tragedy which occurred 21 years ago last Friday, has been recalled by Mrs. Charles M. Turner, Dallas, Texas, in a phone call to the HDN said that her son, Ted and a companion, George Meras, Jr., died in a cave-in of a ditch near the site of the new Lincoln-McKinley school then under construction.
The accident occurred May 31, 1953 on the 40 Street side. Rains had loosened the ground in the construction area.
Ted was 7 years old and George was six. Ted was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles W. Turner, now of Dallas, Texas, and George was the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Meras.
Mrs. Turner would like to again thank the people of Havre for their concern, sympathy and effort that was shown at the time of the boys' disappearance and the finding of their bodies.
