East Peoria, IL - James C. ''Jim'' Turnbow, 89, of BelWood Nursing Home, formerly of 100 Ember Lane, died at 6 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2000, at Methodist Medical Center.

Born March 22, 1910, in Taylorville to Sam Elias and Amelia Anna Retherford Turnbow, he married Margaret E. Blunt on Oct. 22, 1934. She died Feb. 9, 1991. He later married Thelma L. Perkins on Sept. 15, 1991, in Peoria. She survives.

Also surviving are one stepson, Ben J. Perkins Jr. of Knoxville; one stepdaughter, Beverly Ann Musser of Saint David; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two half brothers, Bill Turnbow of North Dakota and Art Huff of Indiana; and four half sisters, Margaret Mack of North Dakota, Mary Anderson of Bismark, N.D., Eunice Sabot of Baldwin, N.D., and Catherine Entze of Golden Valley, N.D.

He was preceded in death by one son, James ''Bud''; one brother; one half-sister; and three half-brothers.

He was an electrician for Oberlander Electric in Peoria and a member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 34. Previously, he was a salesman at Friedman Brothers Furniture in Peoria.

He was a member of Glen Oak Christian Church in Peoria.

Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery.
