Paulette C. Rigda of Birch Run, age 67, passed away at her residence with family by her side on Tuesday, July 19, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 2PM Friday, July 22, 2016 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run. Pastor Mike Maike officiating. Military Honors will be conducted under the direction of the Clio Gordon R. Bennet VFW Post #1452 and American Legion Post #158. Cremation to follow. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 11AM until the time of service at 2PM. Contributions may be made to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
Paulette was born August 7, 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri to the late Ford M. and Frances G. (Myers) Tune. She married Joseph W. Rigda on November 29, 1969 at St. Christopher Church in Bridgeport. They enjoyed 46 years together.
Paulette is a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #1452. She was employed with Delphi for 31 years. Paulette lived for her family and grandchildren who she loved unconditionally. She was a wonderful wife and always put others before herself. She enjoyed bowling, knitting and crafting.
Surviving are: Loving husband, Joe Rigda of Birch Run; Daughters: Melissa (Joseph) Mellentine of Chesaning, Sheri (Tom) Ulanski of Montrose and Paula Rigda of Clio; 7 grandchildren: Harley (Kristina) Mellentine, Houston Mellentine (Rachel), Hannah, Harstan and Hailey Ulanski, Evan and Dillon Rigda-Gulick; 1 great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Mellentine; Siblings: Fred (Alice) Tune, June (Jim) Bouck, Pat (Kieth) Wichert, Darleen Wright, Debra Manor, Genny (Dale) Pochazday, Nancy (George) Leonhardt, Ken Tune (Shawn), Idell Stenger and Lori Patterson; Sisters in law: Ann Tune and Debbie Tune. Paulette was also preceded in death by her son, Joseph William Rigda Jr. in 1974 and brothers: Bob, Richard and Ford Tune and Dick Stenger.
