Carolyn Walker Tufts born November 8, 1924, departed on her last adventure on December 22, 2009.
She was preceded in death by husband, Peter, local advertiser and broadcaster and son, Randy, planetary scientist and co-discoverer of Kartchner Caverns, as well as brother, Harry, chemist and outdoorsman.
She is survived by daughter, Judy Rodin and daughter-in-law, Dr. Ericha Scott; sister-in-law, Dorothy and nieces, Sharon, Linda, Barbara and nephew, Brian and their spouses, children and grandchildren.
Carol was an exuberant and fearless person of many interests and passions. She was an avid political and community activist, involved through the years in numerous humanitarian projects locally and in Mexico and Central America. She found much joy in working with clay, creating uniquely beautiful pottery. Carol was quite a "people-person", interested in everyone she met, and her life was enriched by so many friends. She will be remembered as full of life and full of love, a woman who was not bored for one minute of her 85 years.
In lieu of Services, an outdoor party to celebrate her life will be arranged in the early spring. Special thanks to Rick and Lisa Adams for the cozy and caring home where Carol spent her last few years.
