Services for Effie Mae Tucker Ates, 57, Tyler, are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at North Star Baptist Church with the Rev. James Johnson officiating.
Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park under direction of Brooks-Sterling & Garrett Funeral Directors, Tyler.
Mrs. Ates died Sept. 15, 2007, in Tyler.
She was born Oct. 30, 1949, in Tyler to the late W.T. and Ethelean Byrd Tucker. She was a lifelong resident of Smith County and attended Emmett Scott High School. She was a cook and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by brothers, Willie Earl Tucker and William Thomas Tucker; and sisters, Mattie Young and Georgia Williams.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Ates Sr., Tyler; sons, Fernando Ates, Gary Ates Jr., Cerone Ates and Demarion Ates, all of Tyler; daughters, Yvette Williams, Tyler, and Lomesa Marsh, Austin; brothers, James E. Tucker and Larry Tucker; sisters, Ethel Foley, Patricia Tucker, Lottie Tucker, Mary Lynch and Linda Tucker; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Charles Davis, Chris Earl, Shawn Adams, Fred Suel, Neal Session, Richmond Crumpton, DeWayne Holeman, Tyrone Caldwell and Stephen Ross.
Nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Family will receive friends noon-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
