A 90 year Mobilian who in her younger years was a long distance swimmer died Sunday in a nursing home in Montrose. Was born in Mobile, where she was lifelong resident. She won a Gold Medal in 1927 for participating in the Biloxi to the Isle of Caprice matathon. the Isle of Caprice which was located off the Biloxi coast, no longer exists.
