Mrs. Gladys Beasley, 74, of Gordon Street, Newnan, died Wednesday, August 1, 2001 at Newnan Hospital.
A funeral will be Sunday, August 5 at Heard Wesley United Methodist Church on Highway 34, Franklin, Ga. The Rev. Frank Dean, pastor, will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Clifton Melson and the Rev. Melvin Brittian Jr. Burial in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ray Head, Larry Satterwhite, Terry Head, Greg Hadley, Roger Head and Bobby Walker. Nieces and friends will serve as flower ladies.
Mrs. Beasley was born January 9, 1927 to the late Dow Euclid and Salone Tucker in Cooksville, Ga. She joined Bethel Heard Baptist Church at an early age, and later in life joined Heard Wesley United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Beasley was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Tucker; and one sister, Virginia Terrell.
Surviving are her husband, Artis C. Stephens of Dayton, Ohio; son, Willie David (Angelia) Beasley, Newnan; four granddaughters, Shayla, Takesia, LaToya and Shenique Beasley, all of Newnan; uncle, Clifford Tucker of Bowdon, Ga.; aunts, Mrs. Odessa Jackson, Atlanta, Mrs. Orie Lee Truitt, LaGrange, Ga., Mrs. Emma Frances Tucker, Franklin, Ga., and Baby Ruth Rutledge, Franklin, Ga.; two foster sisters, three foster brothers and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
