WIFE OF WILLIAM EDWARD CHAMPLIN, JR
(SGT US ARMY, KOREA)

Barbara Tucker Champlin, passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 23, at Saint Francis Hospital, Memphis. She was a longtime Memphis resident and member of the Baptist faith. An award-winning artist, she pursued her art training at the University of Montevallo, the Birmingham Art Museum and through workshops with many nationally known artists. She was a Charter Member of the Memphis/ Germantown Art League with Platinum Status, a Signature Member of both the Tennessee Watercolor Society and the Birmingham Watercolor Society, and a member of Artist Link. Her work has shown in more than 100 juried exhibitions, many museums and commercial galleries, and is represented in numerous private and public collections, including the collections of the Tennessee Valley Authority, Germantown Municipal Center, and The Mabel Larson Collection at Austin Peay State University. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, William Edward Champlin Jr. She is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, William Edward Champlin III (Marion) of Panama City Beach, FL, Michael Sherer Champlin (Sheila) of Germantown, TN, and Richard Scott Champlin (Ronda)of Hernando, MS; five granddaughters, Sasha Champlin Bryan (Forrest), Adele Champlin, Mallory Champlin, Paige Champlin, and Natalie Newman; and two great-grandsons, Tristan and Samuel Bryan. A brief memorial service will be held Friday, February 26 at 11:00 a.m. at West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill/ Irene Road, Memphis, TN. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to United Way of the Mid-South or the Memphis Union Mission.
