Ada Viola Tucker, age 981/2, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 17, 2009. She was born October 14, 1910 in Wyatt, LA to David Daniel and Susie (Watkins) Evans. As a child she lived in California, Louisiana and Mississippi. She married John Tucker on July 30, 1932 in Jackson, MS and lived in various places as John worked in the oilfields. They moved to Mustang in 1970, where she was a very active member of First Baptist Church. In early years she worked as a telephone operator and in food service. In later years she worked for Mustang Schools and loved to decorate cakes for special occasions. She was preceded in death by her parents her husband John three sisters: Bertha, Bessie, Belle and five brothers: Buster, Elbert, Albert, Walter and Belton. She is survived by two daughters: Evelyn Carpenter and husband Ray of Mustang, Lois Wall and husband DeWayne of Yukon and one sister, Mellie McCoy of Phoenix, AZ also by five grandchildren: Bill Hanson, Jr., Brenda Franklin, Ken Carpenter, Karen Woodard and Julie Shentwu eleven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandsons as well as one niece, Rachael, and one nephew, James, who lived with Viola and John after the loss of their parents and numerous other relatives, including sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to sister-in-law, Sue Smith, for all her love and care to Viola during her golden years. Visitation will be from 8am to 8pm on Tuesday, May 19, 2009, with family receiving friends from 6pm to 8pm at McNeil's Mustang Funeral Service. Services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, at First Baptist Church of Mustang, with interment following in Mustang Cemetery, Mustang, Oklahoma.
