Lenora "Sissy" Tuck Meador, 91 of Altavista, VA passed away Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital. A special angel went to heaven. She was born on Friday, November 25, 1921 in Bedford County, a daughter of the late Albert Lathan Tuck and Maggie Arnold Neal Tuck. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willie Eldridge Meador, two brothers, Willard Tuck, Kyle Tuck and a sister, Pearl T. Ashwell. She was a cafeteria worker with Campbell County Public School and was a member of Altavista Church of God of Prophecy. Surviving are her daughters, Carolyn M. Davis, Phyllis M. Dowdy & husband, James all of Lynch Station; five grandchildren, Teresa Crouch, Tammie Chocklett, Sharon Lukin, Shawn Trent, R. Shane Dowdy; four brothers, Guy A. Tuck of Altavista, Calvin R. Tuck, Lawson W. Tuck both of Gretna, Fred W. Tuck of Bedford; four sisters, Lois T. Kendrick of Bedford, Doris T. Shelton of Vinton, Lula T. Todd of Maryland, Naomi T. Howell of Huddleston, ten great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 15, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Altavista Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Steve Pittman & Rev. Wayne Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in Altavista Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday from 5 until 7 PM at the church and at other times at the residence of Phyllis Dowdy. Arrangements are being handled by Updike Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Huddleston.
