MRS. GEORGE CLUTTER DIED EARLY TODAY
Mrs. Mary Catherine Clutter died at half-past five o'clock this morning at her home 711 Grove street where for the past four months she has lain ill. While her condition had recently grown appreciably worse fatal termination of her illness was not altogether expected. She suffered a rapid decline during the night.
Funeral arrangements had not been made this afternoon and it was said at the home that announcement would be made as to the hour of the service tomorrow morning.
Mrs. Clutter was about 57 years of age and was a native of Richmond, being the daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Jefferson Tuck. Thirty-three years ago she was married to George Washington Clutter in Richmond coming to Danville the year following where she lived since and where she had established herself in the hearts of many people by her large and sincere service to others. While she had no church membership in Danville she attended Jefferson Avenue Christian church with frequency.
She is survived by her husband and four children all living in Danville, Eugene D. Clutter, Miss Lois M. Clutter, Mrs. B. R. Rhodes and Raymond V. Clutter. Two brothers also survive M. H. Tuck of Hammond, Ind., and A. L. Tuck of Richmond.
