CEDAR CREEK, TEXAS Robert E. Tubb, 88, of Cedar Creek, Texas, passed away on February 24, 2010. He was born on December 4, 1921, in Amory, Mississippi and moved at an early age to Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
He was a veteran of World War II and retired from the United States Air Force as a Technical Sergeant in 1967 at Bergstrom AFB in Austin.
Robert is preceded in death by his father and mother, Benjamin F. Tubb, Sr. and Virginia Thornton Tubb; two brothers, Benjamin F. Tubb, Jr. and Hal Tubb; and two sisters, Mary McConatha and Carolyn Friday.
Those left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Louise Tubb; daughters, Kaye McDaniel of Cedar Creek, Texas and Pat and husband Frank Gage of Leander, Texas; and grandchildren, Greg and wife Angela Gage, Angela and husband Troy Walton, Amanda and husband Matt Homesley, Robby and wife Catrina Gage, and Jeff and wife Sophia McDaniel. He is also survived by his beloved great-grandchildren, Jacob Daughett, Courtney Gage, Bryce and Emily Walton, Ame, Matthew, Mason, and Kyleigh Homesley, Jordan Donnelly, Lexi, Aly, and Bubba McDaniel; and great-great-grandson, Braelan Washington. His three sisters, Jean Coryea, June Hamner and Sue Coleman, all of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and several nieces and nephews also survive him.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 26, 2010, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 N. Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 27, 2010, in the Memorial Chapel of the funeral home, with burial following at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery.
