Obituary for Jenell Glasgow

Jenell Tubb Glasgow, 83, died on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at The Arrington at Plantation Pointe in Columbus. Born November 3, 1932, she was a daughter of William “Bill” and Susie Carter Tubb. Marrying Billy Glasgow at age 14, she flew to Anchorage, AK and lived there while Billy was stationed in the Air Force. After the birth of their daughter, Carla, she made arrangements to drive back to Amory. She was a member of the Home Demonstration Club, the Amory Flower Lovers Club, the Eastern Star, and the Mighty Five Domino Group. Having a passion for travel, she loved to take bus tours and she enjoyed boating on the Tennessee River at Pickwick. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Amory.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at the Cleveland-Moffett Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Chuck Moffett officiating. Entombment will be in the family mausoleum in Masonic Cemetery.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Billy D. Glasgow; one son, Steven Earl Glasgow of Amory; one daughter, Carla Jean Glasgow (Ricky Wells) of Amory; grandson, Jason Scott Burt of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; great-grandson, Tyler Burt of Amory; niece, Charlene Patterson, Amory; nephew, Kenny Simmons (Patty), Amory; special caregivers, Ruth Benton, Kylie Patterson, Pat Latham, Fannie Turner, Camilla Hospice, Sherita Ewing, and the staff at Bedford Suites.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Bemis Tubb, Hubert Tubb, and Winford Tubb; and 3 sisters, Edith Spratt, Bernice Simmons, and Evelyn Miller.
