Evelyn Darlene (Mobley) Truman was born April 28, 1941 in Salinas, California and passed away February 12, 2010 at Truman Care Center-Lakewood, Kansas City, Missouri, at the age of 68 years, 9 months, and 15 days.
She was the daughter of Evangelistic Ministers Sylvanus Earl and Eda Elora (Meers) Mobley. Accompanying and assisting her parents in their Evangelistic Ministries throughout the United States, took Evelyn many places during her lifetime, she attended elementary school, grade-school and some of her high school years in Olivehurst, California- the family then moved to Tecumseh, Oklahoma where she completed high school.
Evelyn furthered her education by first graduating Bible College in Houston, Texas and then I.B.M. College in Citrus Heights, California.
After graduating I.B.M. College, the Mobley family returned to Oklahoma City where Evelyn met, and in 1963 married William Ludell "Bill" Truman. To this union, a daughter, Sherry Darlene was born in October of 1964 and on July 19, 1966, a son, Jack L. Truman joined the family. Bill and Darlene were married for 13 years. Bill passed away in 2008. Darlene later wed Chad Pfifer and they made their home in Sacramento, California. Chad passed away in 2009. In addition to working with her parents in various ministries for the Pentecostal Church of God, Darlene worked for the State of California as secretary to Senator Matsui. She was also a very talented pianist, organist and gospel singer, recording an album with David Beatty, well known gospel singer and cousin to Jimmy Swaggart.
In July of 2010, in failing health, Darlene moved to the Kansas City area to be near her son, Jack. She was preceded in death by: Her first husband- William L. "Bill" Truman Her second husband- Chad Pfifer Her parents- Sylvanus E. and Eda Elora Moberly and 2 brothers- Ronnie Earl and James Terrance Moberly. Darlene is survived by- 1 son- Jack L. Truman of Kansas City, MO. 1 daughter- Sherry Truman of Kansas, Oklahoma 1 sister- Sharon Ruth Rogers of Citrus Heights, California 6 grandchildren- Jennifer Lee Hagan, Tyler Jack Truman, Crystal Marie Miller, Ryan David Truman, Shelbae Danielle Truman, and Dustin Tyler Truman 3 great-grandchildren, other relatives and many, many friends. Funeral Services were held at 1:00 p.m. Monday February 15 at the Wallace Funeral Home. Sharon R. Rogers officiated. Pallbearers were James Lilly, Steven Hagan, Allen Cornelius, Aubrey Flynn, Jack Truman and Tanner Norregaard. Burial was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
