Funeral services for Mrs. Willie Myra Adams, 66, were held Tuesday at the First Baptist Church, Rev. Riley Fugitt officiating. He was assisted by Rev. Loyd Pendley, Lamesa.
She had been ill for some time. She was a cousin to former President Harry S. Truman. A spray from the former president was among the floral offerings.
A resident of Spur since 1934, Mrs. Adams died Sunday, January 24, 1960.
Survivors include her husband, John Adams, two daughters, Mrs. Maxine Young, Lamesa and Mrs. Vera Hilton, Lubbock; 3 sons; I.N. Adams, Taft, CA; Melvin Adams, Spur and Elmer Adams, Lubbock. Three sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Webb, Richardson, Mrs. Orr Warren, Cisco; Mrs. Alice Holland, Wichita Falls survive along with two brothers, Elmer Truman, Waco and Fred Truman, Denton.
Pallbearers included Marion Jordan, Clarence Foreman, Marcus Copeland, Sterman Lee, G.W. Grimes, Penn Shugart, Mac Allison, and Jerry Ensey. Honorary pallbearers were the Baptist Board of Deacons. Interment was in the Spur Cemetery.
