Mary Esther Aragon, age 70, a resident of Sabinal, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2009. Born in Belen, Mrs. Aragon was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Mrs. Aragon and her husband loved to dance at the Belen Senior Center. Mrs. Aragon enjoyed ceramics and painting and she had painted many saints at several local churches including San Antonio Catholic Church in Sabinal, San Juan Catholic Church in Veguita and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tome. Mrs. Aragon and her husband had also served as Mayordomos for San Antonio Catholic Church. Mrs. Aragon loved spending time with her grandchildren and always enjoyed family functions. Mrs. Aragon was preceded in death by her parents, Rufino and Maria Trujillo. Mrs. Aragon is survived by her beloved husband, Eloy Aragon of Sabinal, daughter, Tina Reano and her husband, Michael of Plano, Texas, step-children, Mike Aragon of Albuquerque, Frances Fliss of Albuquerque, Manuel Aragon of Sabinal, Rick Aragon of Albuquerque, Janice Aragon of Albuquerque, Charles Aragon of Albuquerque, Paul Aragon of Albuquerque, Gloria Gallegos of Albuquerque and Frank Aragon of Belen. Also surviving are a sister, Mena Valdez of Albuquerque, as well as 40 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren, with another expected at any time.
All services will be held at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church beginning with a viewing on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at 5:30 p.m., followed by the Most Holy Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Final viewing will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2014 at 10:30 a.m., followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Michael Reano, Garett Reano, Jessica Hernandez, Johnny Gutierrez, Frank Aragon and Manuel Aragon.
